We saw Batman tonight in theaters and I need to rave about it for a quick second. If you haven’t seen it, do! I was so impressed by Heath Ledger's performance. I'm sort of left speechless after the whole ordeal beyond saying that I was truly creeped out and on the edge of my seat with suspense (not because I didn't know what was going to happen with Harvey Dent, but because I did know), and at every turn I became more and more disturbed and entertained by the Joker. It makes me sad that that level of performance will be absent from the next one, whenever it is. Christian Bale's raspy Batman voice got a bit old at times, but for the most part, I didn't catch any sins that made me dislike the movie. I'm sure some people will say there are little problems in suspension of disbelief, but ... a movie-goer's responsibility is to maintain the state of enjoyment as long as the movie maintains its sense of place, remains logically consistent to its own basic spirit, and does not grossly violate our expectations. The movie did a great job of keeping me keyed into the psyche of the characters, giving me a believable sense of the Joker (much better than Jack Nicholson's raving madman). I was willing to forgive nigh anything.
I know it has been out for a bit back in the states, but it is worth seeing if you like Batman (Dad, I'm telling you! See it in Theaters!).

Saw "Dark Knight" yesterday, as per your recommendation.
What a creepy clown. Heath Ledger was a very talented actor.
Enjoyed all the misdirections of the film, but didn't understand the initial cameo appearance of the "Scarecrow." All in all, a very entertaining film.
Laughed, when the Joker exited Dent's hospital room and remembered to clean his hands with sanitizer. :)
Lol. Yes. Brilliant little details. Glad you enjoyed it. I didn't understand the Scarecrow either.
